A Great Investment |
|
| The YMCA is a membership-based organization. Therefore,
membership is required and offered in a variety of categories;
memberships may be obtained from any of our branches. More
importantly, the YMCA of Anderson is a non-profit association
open to all people regardless of age, ethnicity, gender
or religion. We pledge that, subject to available resources,
no child will be turned away due to an inability to pay
a fee.
At the YMCA of Anderson, you and your family can join us
and swim, jog, exercise, play racquetball, lift weights,
take saunas and whirlpools, and enjoy dozens of other exciting
physical activities.
|
|
And
we have more to offer, including: childcare, youth sports
and teen leadership programs. Our programs are designed
to bring siblings closer together, build new relationships,
strengthen family bonds, and lead to a healthier lifestyle.
Additionally, all members of the YMCA are automatically
enrolled in the A.W.A.Y. (Always Welcome at YMCAs) program.
When you travel and want to workout or use the services
at a YMCA in another city, you may do so on a short-term
basis by showing your YMCA (A.W.A.Y.) membership card. (Note:
This program is not valid within the South Carolina upstate
service area.) |

Financial Assistance Program
Because the YMCA is for everybody, the Anderson Area YMCA offers
a sliding scale financial assistance program that is based on household
income and number of dependents. Financial Assistance is available
for membership, child development programs, youth sports, aquatics,
and summer camps. Please stop by the membership service desk to
pick up an application.
Y-Assist funds are available due to the generosity of donors to
the Y-Assist Campaign and the Foothills United Way. The Anderson
Area YMCA has distributed over $160,000 in financial assistance
in 2004. |
