Heritage Club
Strong Heritage. Bright Future.
For more than 70 years, the Anderson Area YMCA has been working to strengthen our community by helping individuals and families learn, grow and thrive. The Y is recognized as a tremendous local asset, providing opportunities for all ages to gather for physical activity, to make new friends, to be a part of a team and to learn new ways to lead healthy, more productive and satisfying lives.
Our focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility drives everything we do. Since we opened our doors in 1949, thousands of folks have personally benefited from the Y’s commitment to respond to community needs and make Anderson a better place to live.
The Heritage Club recognizes those who have committed to helping our Y continue to make a meaningful and enduring impact on our community. With an outright or planned gift to the Endowment Fund, you join those who feel this special responsibility to build on our strong heritage and ensure a bright future.
There are several ways to make a gift to the Endowment Fund:
- Direct Gifts of Cash or by Check or Credit Card
- Appreciated Stock
- Real Estate
- Annuities
- Naming the Y as a beneficiary of an insurance policy
- Naming the Y in your will
- IRA Account Transfers when RMD’s must be taken
A Strong Foundation
Paying down our existing building debt more quickly is the goal of our 500 Club.
In July of 2001 we opened the doors of our Reed Road facility and began experiencing tremendous growth in membership and in programming. Our beautiful wellness facility provides services and programs for more than 10,000 members and guests and is considered a great community asset. We carry a large mortgage on this building and are working to pay it off as quickly as possible so we might put more resources toward people, programs and services.

The 500 Club was established in 2008 to help us pay off our building mortgage at a faster rate than negotiated. All contributions go directly toward lowering the mortgage principle. Members of the 500 Club make an annual gift of $500 or more to assist us in continuing to lower the building debt and put us in a position of greater financial strength as we move forward with new initiatives.
